Kinds of Beer(based on temperature of fermentation)

• Lager  - Ferments at lower temperatures, 64-70 degrees F
• Ale - Ferments at higher temperatures, 64-70 degrees F

Whiskey 101

This is a 101 on the drink that I enjoy ...

• Whisky is made from grain (Brandy from grapes)
• Is nothing more than distilled beer
• Is distilled a few times and then aged in oak barrels where it matures and becomes whiskey 

Single Malt

• Means that it is made from the malt from single distillery
• Johnny Walker, Chivas are all blended
• Balvenie, Macallan, Glenlivet are single malts

Scotch Whiskey

• Has to be distilled and then matured for at least 3 years to be called Scotch.

American Whiskey

• This is called Bourbon.
• Should be made in US and should have at least 51% corn
• Also called straight whiskeys. They could also be made from Rye or wheat.

• Best Time to Book - Tuesday after Noon. The airlines file sales on Monday night and seats are reconciled  by Tuesday noon.

• Called as Emerald Triangle (Just like IOWA is to corn and Kansas is to wheat)

Harvesting

• The tree grows 8 to 20 ft.
• Marijuana is made from the buds
• Each plant assuming 2 pounds  is worth $5,000/year
• 1 pound sells for $2,500 to retailer and $6,000 by the time it reaches the customer

Legal

• Legal to grow medicinally in CA.
• Small number of plants can be grown legally
• Mendocino County allows residents to grow 25 plants per household
• Need doctors to prescribe
• Once prescribed, a person can have 8 ounces of pot(160 cigarettes)
